I started buying fresh lemons from the bag after I found out how they can help cure diabetes. I am literally a miracle by mother nature! I have always loved fresh lemon but now make an extra effort to eat lots of them. In fact, I believe that lemons should be a staple in every diabetic diet.

Lemon lowers the glycemic index of foods

Research has shown that lemon lowers the glycemic index of any food that is added. And ... we're not talking about a few points here. The fall is very significant! To qualify for this, all you need to do is add a small squeeze of fresh lemon over your food. Almost like waving a magic wand, this will immediately lower the glycemic index of your meal. Best of all, lemon is such an excellent flavor enhancer, makes many foods taste better too. Often I add a squeeze of fresh lemon in a bowl of hot soup (yum!), casseroles, stove top goulashes made, almost any type of salad (including salads containing fruit) and Sauteed Vegetables (especially green!). Anything with chicken or fish of course tastes especially well with the lemon. Please note that it is best to add the lemon law before eating the food. If you cook in broth, for example, can get a little bitter taste and health benefits will not be big enough.

Have a glass of lemon water first thing in the morning

A glass of lemon water is the perfect way to start your day a diabetic. Most people begin their day with coffee (very acidic) and food that move the pH of the body towards the acid side. However, if you move the pH to alkaline side, you will notice that your blood sugar drops. In addition, the cell membrane becomes more sensitive to insulin-i.e. you will be less resistant to insulin. In fact, this actually helps your body to repair damaged cell membranes.

Although lemons contain a weak acid, when they are metabolized by the body are alkalizing effect. If, in fact, are the strongest alkalizing foods you can eat! That's why adding lemon juice to your diet can go a long way toward restoring the pH of your body to alkaline side where it should be. It has been found that the vast majority of diabetics have a very acidic pH of the body (as their cancer patients). Returning to alkaline side will go a long way toward helping to cure diabetes.

Making lemon water is very easy. Squeeze the juice of half a lemon (or a lemon whole) If you're a bigger person in a glass of water, stir it around a little and drink it up. Do this first thing in the morning on an empty stomach before having your coffee or breakfast.

Lemons have twice the vitamin C as oranges

This was a fact that surprised me as always feels that the orange juice is so loaded with vitamin c. well, citrus orange's cousin won with twice the vitamin c. Most people don't realize, but vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant. It is important to note that vitamin took the form of food is much better absorbed by the body of vitamin C taken in the form of a pill!

Vitamin C is at least part of why lemons interact with the cell membrane and make it less resistant to insulin. However, vitamin C also have other important benefits for diabetics as well. For example, increases the production of collagen, which strengthens the blood vessels. This is key because many diabetics have problems with circulation and arterial damage.

Helps repair digestion

Most diabetics have impaired digestive enzymes and lowered acidity in the stomach. This means that they do not always take full advantage of the nutritious food they eat. Lemon goes a long way toward curing this problem as well.
