Diabetes is deadly disease, it has now become very common disease and teenagers are too victims of it. Diabetes is a condition when there are high blood sugar levels in the blood, this due to stop in insulin production by the beta cells of pancreas or the cells not reacting with insulin produced.

The former condition is known as type 1 diabetes and later condition is commonly known as type 2 diabetes. In type 1 beta cells are destroyed by autoimmune system of the body. Using genetic therapy we can stop autoimmune system of the body destroying beta cells of pancreas. It is now common among young adults and teenagers. It is also known as juvenile diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is common among people who above 40 years of age. It is also known as adult onset diabetes.

Another important type of diabetes is gestational diabetes. It is to women, it occurs generally in second phase of pregnancy. It may till the delivery, if proper care is taken by the mother during pregnancy by following necessary medications. On the other hand if ignored it leads to type 2 diabetes. Women with gestational diabetes are at risk of having large babies.

Diabetes is generally diagnosed by Urine and Blood tests. Urine test shows glucose in urine and blood test is of three types in all the three types the blood glucose level is above the normal level.

The most common signs and symptoms of diabetes are increased thirst, frequent urination, numbness in feet, blurry vision. Diabetes also leads to other severe complications if it is left untreated. It leads to strokes and heart attacks.

A diabetic person needs to take diet which is rich in fiber content and healthy food. Eating vegetables raw is a good option. Examples of vegetables rich in fiber are Bitter gourd, onion, barley, amla, cinnamon, sweet potato.

Things that a diabetic person should avoid includes junk food which includes fast food items, cut down intake of simple carbohydrates, food containing sugar content or artificial sweets. This all make diabetes more worse.

Type 1 diabetic persons need to take insulin doses or injections to maintain their blood sugar levels to normal. Type 2 diabetic people can control and avoid diabetes by taking proper diet and involving themselves in physical routines. Physical activities include running, jogging, skipping and swimming. These all makes a person fit and keep him/her from diseases and look better.

Diagnosing diabetes symptoms can be difficult in identifying at first, as manifestation of the disease is gradual. Sometimes, because symptoms can also be common to other illnesses, the real illness may be overlooked. Diabetes symptoms may vary, the list may go on and on but not everybody (diabetes patients) has them. There are even some cases that no symptoms may show on some patients.

Diabetes occurs when the body's ability to react to insulin gets affected. The insulin is your body hormone that allows your blood sugar (glucose) to enter body cells. When too much glucose enters the blood, this leads to the elevated amount of blood glucose, which it can cause glucose spillage towards the urine. This is the primary reason why one of the most classic diabetes symptoms, frequent urination, plagues the patient.

Because elevated glucose level is beyond normal, your body cells are energy-starved and consequently leading to the damage in your nerves, kidneys, eyes, blood vessels and your heart. The increased amount of glucose appears when the sugar of your body falls too low. It then increases production of sugar. This process starts when the pancreas releases the hormone called glucagons. The stored glycogen will be converted back into the glucose by your liver and muscles.

How are diabetes symptoms diagnosed?

Diagnosing diabetes patients may vary, and is based according to the duration and range of the high blood sugar levels. Patients with type 2 diabetes are often diagnosed relatively slowly as compared to people with type 1 diabetes, to which it may take only after weeks or some months. Symptoms may also progress slowly and mildly.

Some of the most specific and common early diabetes symptoms are:

- Skin irritation and diseases

- Skin infections

- Poor skin healing

- Athlete's foot

- Sexual problem

- Unusual vaginal dryness

- Erectile failure (to male patients)

- Premature menopause (to female patients)

- Absence of menstrual periods

- Paresthesias

- Peripheral neuropathy

- Urinary tract infection

- Blurry vision

- Malaise

- Drowsiness

- Numbness of the hands

- Weight loss or weight gain

Other more extreme diabetes symptoms are:

- Excessive urination

- Excessive thirstiness

- Dehydration

- Weight loss even with an increased appetite

- Tiredness, fatigue, nausea, and vomiting

- Excessive hunger

- More bladder, skin and vaginal infections

- Serious blurry vision

- Headache

- Muscle aches, weakness and cramps

- Acne

- Increased sexual problems because of erectile failure for men, and vaginal dryness for women

- Cessation of menstrual periods

Other diabetes symptoms:

- Gums are bleeding

- Unusual noise or buzzing in the ear

- Feet numbness or tingling

- Skin itching

- Diarrhea

- Confusion

- Depression

Complications associated to diabetes symptoms:

- Kidney diseases

- Diabetic retinopathy

- Sciatica

- Heart diseases and

- Stroke

As those mentioned symptoms might occur at a later time for a patient, the usual situation is delayed scheduling of the check-up. This is not a good idea as complications may increase over time, making it even harder to treat and manage the disease. In this case, it is extremely important to check with the doctor in as early as possible to prevent more damage to the body. Another, it is important to note that diabetes is one of the lifelong diseases, and one that does not infect other people upon contact.

People often tend to use rat poison or rodenticide to kill the rats in their vicinity. Though these pest control agents are very effective they can be dangerous for your pets too. It's hard to believe but some people do make use of these chemicals to kill the dogs and cats in the neighborhood that bother them.

The ingredients in the poison are added so that it tastes good and this attracts not only the rats but also the dogs and cats in the area which fall prey to the poison pellets. The serious effects of ingestion range from internal bleeding to even death in many cases.

Rodenticide present in the market or stores is usually of three varieties, bromethalin, anticoagulants like warfarin and vitamin D or cholicalciferol. The anticoagulants are moderately effective and while the bromethalin causes death in 10 hours, the cholicalciferol takes one whole day to take effect.

You should be able to identify the symptoms in case your dog ingests rat poison. Here are some symptoms that are commonly observed in case of rat poisoning.

The dog feels dull and listless after ingestion of rat poison and avoids food. The gums which are normally bright pink in color turn pale pink or whitish gray in tinge.

You can also detect the poisoning by noticing the drool of the dog. A foamy drool points to ingestion of rat poison but this kind of foamy drool is also seen if the dog eats toads but blood tinged saliva with foaming is mostly due to poisoning. The blood in saliva may also be due to the presence of some cuts or bruises in the oral cavity. Verify this and if not you should get the dog's veterinarian to start the appropriate treatment immediately.

Internal bleeding is another symptom that clearly suggests poisoning and this can be observed by the presence of blood in the urine, vomit or feces of the dog. There is also nose bleeding as well as bleeding in the anal region. This can weaken the dog severely and if found this has to be reported to the veterinarian immediately.

Muscle tremors, lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, fever and difficulty in breathing are a few other symptoms that indicate rat poison ingestion.

Getting medical aid as soon as possible once you suspect rat poisoning in your dog will help get the treatment he needs to keep him safe. You can also induce vomiting at home to get the poison out. If you fail to notice or are unaware of the implications of the various symptoms explained above you may ignore the symptoms and this may lead to severe internal bleeding and coma and may even result in the death of the dog.

Sometimes the dogs tend to prey upon rats that have ingested the poison. This too may affect the dog seriously but the intensity of damage is less when compared to ingestion of the poison directly. If you know for certain that your pet has ingested poison then you can induce vomiting.

Your pet will be safer if you take the necessary precautions like keeping him within your house or yard and avoiding the use of rat poison pellets. The manual rat traps are safer and better to the surroundings than the chemical poisoning agents.
